Kany García is bringing the Puerta Abierta Tour to the United States with an opening concert in Highland, California, on September 7. The North American stretch follows a run of large Latin American shows and extends a 76-date tour built around García's catalog of emotionally direct songwriting and the cross-generational audience she has developed over two decades.
The itinerary moves from California through major U.S. and Canadian markets, including a September 17 performance in Inglewood near Los Angeles as well as stops connected to San Antonio, Chicago, Toronto and Montreal. Live Nation has said the full tour concludes December 4 in San Juan, giving the Puerto Rican singer-songwriter a homecoming finale after months on the road.

García arrives with evidence that the production can scale. Recent dates drew reported crowds of roughly 14,000 in Mexico City and 15,000 in Medellín. Those audiences reflect a career that has grown through songs centered on intimacy, heartbreak, independence and the difficult conversations that often unfold inside families and relationships.
Puerta Abierta, which means “open door,” suits García's approach to performance. Her songs rarely depend on distance or spectacle alone; they work because listeners recognize the emotional stakes. In an arena setting, the challenge is to preserve that closeness while giving the music enough visual and musical range to reach the back of the room.
The California opening is meaningful for a U.S. leg aimed at a broad Latino audience. Southern California connects multiple generations, national backgrounds and listening habits, from radio and streaming to family playlists and live regional scenes. A successful first night can set the pace for the rest of the run and generate the performance clips that carry a tour across social platforms.
García's place in Latin pop is also shaped by authorship. She is known first as a songwriter, and that identity gives her concerts a different center of gravity from productions built mainly around choreography or visual scale. The audience is listening for phrasing, lyrical changes and the stories that frame familiar songs. Those details can make each date feel specific even within a long itinerary.
Her schedule also places her near the industry's annual fall conversation. García is expected to participate in Billboard Latin Music Week in October, where touring, songwriting and the global growth of Spanish-language music will be major themes. The appearance gives her a platform to connect the personal craft of the songs with the business supporting their international reach.
The tour enters a market in which Latin music is no longer treated as a single lane. Audiences move among pop, urbano, regional Mexican music, tropical styles and acoustic singer-songwriter traditions. García's continued drawing power shows that lyrical, adult-oriented work can thrive alongside faster trend cycles, especially when listeners have followed an artist's life and writing across several albums.
A long tour still carries practical demands. Voice, travel and emotional energy must be managed over dozens of dates, while each city's audience expects a complete performance. The team behind Puerta Abierta will also be adapting rooms of different sizes without losing the continuity that makes a tour feel like one artistic statement.
Fans will also be listening for how the set moves between vulnerability and celebration. García's strongest material often begins with private detail, but a tour of this size needs communal release as well. The order of songs, transitions and spoken introductions can turn individual memories into a shared experience. That emotional architecture matters as much as screens, lights or the number of dates.
For García, the U.S. opening is less a new introduction than the next stage of a relationship already built through records and earlier appearances. What makes this run notable is its scale and timing: a California launch, a continent-spanning route and a Puerto Rico finale. If the first shows match the momentum of Latin America, Puerta Abierta will confirm that careful songwriting can still command some of the season's largest stages.
